Chelsea make new summer transfer strategy after Jude Bellingham remarks

Chelsea changes its summer transfer intentions in wake of Jude Bellingham comments

Chelsea have already made arrangements for the summer transfer window as the club looks to bolster its roster. In January, Chelsea purchased eight young players with an average age of under 24 under Todd Boehly’s ownership.

They don’t appear to be stopping, as Boehly expects to move forward with the reconstruction once the summer window opens. Chelsea have predominantly signed young players because Boehly thinks they will help the team move ahead in the future.

Following Jude Bellingham’s remarks that the West Londoners lacked clarity in the plans the club acquired Enzo Fernandez on the deadline day.

Boehly would make more signings in summer window.

Despite this, Chelsea feels that there are still some areas that require strengthening. However, they will have to cut club wages to accompany Financial Fair Play rules.

Additionally, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (h/t Football.London), there was never a Chelsea-Bellingham saga as he explained on a youtube video:

“I want to clarify something. We had mixed reports on Jude Bellingham rejecting Chelsea. The reality is that Bellingham never said no to any Chelsea proposal.”

“Chelsea never made any official proposal for Bellingham. Of course, they know that after signing Enzo Fernandez and being well-covered in that position, the expectation is that Chelsea will not go for Bellingham in the summer. Chelsea is now focusing on different things and different positions.”

But if that’s the case, we could buy Bellingham despite competition from Liverpool, who are also interested in signing the youngster.

However, the club wants to make additional purchases in order to improve several positions. Our defence is still weak, especially on the left side, where Marc Cucurella hasn’t played his best while Ben Chilwell has remained injury-prone.

He was unable to pair up with Mykhaylo Mudryk in yesterday’s game since the Ukrainian made numerous runs from behind.
