Chelsea eyeing a hijack of Arsenal’s move to sign Dusan Vlahovic

According to Football.London, Chelsea are eyeing up a hijack of Arsenal’s move to sign Juventus and Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Arsenal have been continuously linked with the former Fiorentina striker ever since Gabriel Jesus picked up a long-term injury during the World Cup last month.

The Gunners were interested in him last January too, but Juventus won the race and signed him. They are back for him again, but face competition from Chelsea this time.

Although he arrived in Turin 12 months back only, Vlahovic’s future with the Old Lady is in doubt due to the current financial situation of the club. Moreover, the resignation of all the board members has left the Italian giants in an unstable state.

The 22-year-old did well for Juventus in a team that had a horrendous 2022. He has scored 16 goals and assisted four in 36 appearances in all competitions for them so far.

Vlahovic is an excellent striker, who possesses the great pace to trouble any defender, can run the channels, is good at finding space in the opposition box and is generally a clinical finisher.

The Serbia international has got all the attributes to be one of the best strikers in the coming decade if he is not already on the right path for that by now.

Irrespective of the season-ending injury to Armando Broja, it was reported that Chelsea are looking to add to their centre-forward department. They have signed young striker David Datro Fofana so far this month. Getting another striker of top quality would be helpful to resurrect the free-fall of a season.

More Chelsea News:

Vlahovic fits the ball in terms of offering pace, goals, longevity and lots of running and a high work-rate to trouble the opposition even without possession. We should look to hijack Arsenal’s attempts to sign him given that we have a long-term position in our attack to offer to him rather than the Gunners’ potential short-term proposition of filling in for the injured Jesus.
