Chelsea looking to hijack Arsenal’s move for 21-year-old forward

Chelsea have entered the race for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk

According to The Sun’s Jack Rosser via his Twitter (h/t Football London), Chelsea are interested in hijacking Arsenal’s deal for Ukrainian talent Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Arsenal, who are top of the league, are keen to add the 21-year-old winger to their ranks in a bid to bolster their chance of winning the league.

Currently plying his trade for Shakhtar Donetsk, the club do not have any urgency to sell and are playing hardball over the player, although the player is keen on the move.

Now it is being claimed that Chelsea have entered the race to sign the talented winger as being confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

It would come as a blow to Arsenal who have been negotiating with Shakhtar over a fee for some time and have their eyes set on the player. They are without Gabriel Jesus right now due to injury but are firmly in the race for the Premier League title with an eight-point lead.

On the other hand, Todd Boehly is showing no signs of slowing down this January transfer and is adamant to build a young and impressive winning side for manager Graham Potter.

Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos have already been confirmed as three new signings in this transfer window while the club is a hot favourite to sign FIFA World Cup-winning sensation Enzo Fernandez for a reported £112m fee.

This comes after a deal for France and RB Leipzig superstar Christopher Nkunku was already sealed while summer signing Wesley Fofana is yet to settle in properly due to injuries.

It is really an exciting team that is being created by Boehly, albeit not for cheap but there is a sense of optimism that after a full pre-season, it would be a completely different team to what we see currently.

Mykhaylo is one of the most-in-demanded wingers in European football right now and his blistering pace added to a knack for scoring goals are some of the highly-sought qualities. A move to Chelsea would be made even sweeter if he rejects Arsenal in the process.

More Chelsea News:

Mykhaylo could become a superstar if he chooses to switch his allegiance to Stamford Bridge and be part of a new era of young talented players ready to take the league by storm.
