Injury Update: Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah returns to training

According to Football.London, Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has returned to team training after missing out on the friendly against Aston Villa on Sunday (December 11).

On an evening that was disrupted with the Blues seeing striker Armando Broja stretched off, it started with Chalobah having to be taken out of the team that was scheduled to start against Villa. While Broja’s injury is serious and it will keep him out for the rest of this season, Chalobah is back in business.

In addition to the Englishman, the World Cup stars who were knocked out in the last-16 stage, have had their time off and now return to team training as well. Among them are Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy (both Senegal), Christian Pulisic (USA) and Denis Zakaria (Switzerland).

In a further boost to injury news, Chelsea boss Graham Potter has overseen the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Kai Havertz and Kepa Arrizabalaga featuring in their bid to step up in the efforts to return to full fitness.

Ben Chilwell and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were not pictured in training, hence they are still a bit away from returning to full team training.

With the Bournemouth game still more than 10 days away, it is a good little time for Potter and his coaching staff to have an extended period of time on the training pitch with the squad.

We are eighth in the table going into the second half of this season. The good thing is that there are 24 games still to be played, and a Champions League knock-out tie to come later.

More Chelsea News:

So, there’s plenty to play for when we return to action. It is about making the right steps now and winning games of football consistently. Chalobah was one of the better players before the World Cup. His return to training after the knock is good news.
