Speaking to Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel (h/t Evening Standard), the agent of Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has revealed that the player could cost £86m next summer. Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with him.
The 21-year-old has been one of the rising stars in Europe this season, after arriving from Georgian club Dinamo Batumi for only £8.6m in the summer.
He has scored eight goals and assisted 10 in 17 appearances in all competitions, including an assist against Liverpool when Napoli thrashed the Reds in Naples back in September.
Here’s what Kvaratskhelia’s agent Christian Emile regarding the player’s price tag (h/t Evening Standard):
“You know what’s crazy, he’s done what he’s been in doing in Russia and Europe for the past couple of years.
“He’s come to Napoli, he’s been brilliant, and people are talking about 100m euros.
“For me, if he continues to perform like this till the end of the season and next season, because there’s a zero per cent chance they sell him [in January]. He will reach 100m euros for sure.”
The Georgian international has caught the eye of everyone in European and world football with his game. He chiefly operates as a left winger and gives nightmares to opposition fullbacks. He is direct with the ball, can dribble past people, has the pace to run in behind and is pretty lethal in and around the opposition box.
As mentioned above, he is contributing a goal either by scoring or assisting in every game on average. Although still very new at the elite level, the 21-year-old has shown he is here to stay and be the future of the game.
Having arrived at Napoli this summer itself, it would be difficult for clubs to prize him away after one season. However, nothing is guaranteed in football. If Chelsea are willing to pay the big bucks, they might as well do that on this player next summer.
Kvaratskhelia has everything to come in and be an upgrade on the left wing for the Blues. Considering his age and how good he already is, there might be a case that the money spent on him will even itself out because of the potential longevity and quality he can offer.
