Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is serious about signing superstar Kylian Mbappe

Just 24 hours before Paris St. Germain had its important UEFA Champions League match against S.L Benfica, Spanish outlet Marca (h/t SportBible) dropped a bombshell that French superstar Kylian Mbappe‘s relationship with the club hierarchy has completely broken down, just five months after signing a new contract.

It is claimed that Mbappe wants out of PSG as soon as the January transfer window which has alerted the top clubs around. PSG chiefs deny any speculation of a rift between the club and player however reputed journalists such as Fabrizio Romano have come out and confirmed about the current status of the relationship between the two.

Mbappe feels betrayed by the club hierarchy for not fulfilling the promises made to the player in a bid to stop him from moving to Real Madrid. Now, a saga which seemed to have found its peace for some time has started to rise up again.

Mbappe’s talent and ability are known to everyone and he is clearly in the category of one of the best players in the world currently. He is at his peak age and ready to spearhead one of Europe’s elite into success.

As soon as the news broke out, journalists started debating the possibility of a deal to take the player away from Paris happening and the clubs that could be given a shout.

Real Madrid is the obvious name on the list with Liverpool also deemed as a possibility due to the fact that Mbappe spoke to Jurgen Klopp before signing the contract extension.

Now, according to SportBible, Chelsea are the latest side to show a serious interest in the Frenchman and are genuine contenders to land his signature if the player ends up leaving PSG.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly would be willing to give it all to secure a marquee signing during his early days in the tenure. The American owner was keen on signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United but was vetoed by Thomas Tuchel, which did not sit pretty well with the new owner.

Now, the Mbappe situation presents a wonderful opportunity for Boehly to show his seriousness and ruthlessness in making Chelsea one of the best teams in the world, which can secure world-class talents.

Erling Haaland and Mbappe are deemed to be the next two superstars to take over as heavyweights of the game. With Haaland’s impact and rise in popularity since his move to Manchester City, a move to the Premier League would provide Mbappe with the best chance to match up to the Norwegian forward.
