Paul Robinson tells Spurs that selling Chelsea target Harry Kane for £88m would be good business

Speaking to Football Insider (h/t Football.London), former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson tells Spurs that selling Chelsea target Harry Kane for £88m would be good business for the club.

The England captain’s current deal in North London expires in the summer of 2024, and Robinson believes getting £88m next summer for a player in the final 12 months of his contract would be beneficiary for Tottenham.

Chelsea and German champions Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for the striker, who is himself heavily linked with an exit from his current club.

Talking about Kane and his potential exit being a good business for Spurs, here’s Robinson (h/t Football.London):

“I think £88million for a player with 12 months left on his contract would be good business.

“Regardless of who you are, that is a big transfer fee considering you are into the final year of your contract. That would be a pretty good deal for Spurs. Do not get me wrong though, Spurs have to exhaust every opportunity to tie him down to a new deal. He is invaluable and in many ways irreplaceable.”

Bayern are preparing themselves to spend £88m to sign the striker as they look to replace Robert Lewandowski, as per Munich-based paper TZ via Football.London.

Speaking to The Football Terrace (h/t Football.London), CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that an offer for Kane will be considered. Chelsea as co-owner Todd Boehly is eager to make statement signings early on in his era and the 29-year-old striker could be targetted as a result.

The England international has been in customary great form this season, with nine goals and one assist in 10 league games so far. We all are well aware of his qualities in the opposition box, while his work as an attacking playmaker is second to not many as well.

Chelsea currently have a 33-year-old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the line for them. As much as the former Arsenal marksman is doing a tremendous job so far, he wouldn’t be a long-term solution to the number nine conundrum.

More Chelsea News:

Kane is 29 and is at the peak of his career. There are no doubts about his goal-scoring prowess wherever he would go. In a team like Chelsea that creates a lot of chances but do not finish well, the Tottenham man would be an ideal addition.
