AC Milan chiefs meet representatives of Chelsea duo Armando Broja and Hakim Ziyech

According to the Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Metro), AC Milan chiefs have met with representatives of two Chelsea players – striker Armando Broja and winger Hakim Ziyech.

Milan directors met with Ziyech’s lawyer while holding talks with Broja’s intermediatory Cheikh Fall. With the transfer window not open yet, these would just have been preliminary talks. The Serie A champions do see Broja as a long-term replacement for ageing strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud. Ziyech was linked with them over the summer as well.

Broja recently signed a new six-year deal with Chelsea but has struggled for game time this season. He has made a total of 103 minutes of league football, none as a starter.

Ziyech, on the other hand, has never looked like getting a start this season. He was below the pecking order last season itself, and with the addition of Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, the former Ajax man has been pushed further down.

So, it would make sense why Chelsea will let the winger go. His future has been uncertain for some time. It is unfortunate though because he arrived at Stamford Bridge as one of the best players in Europe. Right now, he is nowhere near that.

Broja, on the other hand, could do with minutes elsewhere to gain more experience. He did that last season with Southampton and should do the same from January onwards or next summer.

Hence, the Blues should look to sanction a loan deal for him because he could be an option for the club in the future. Six-year contract means the club hierarchy is convinced that the Albanian international will come good.

More Chelsea News:

AC Milan have had good prior experience signing a player from Chelsea. Fikayo Tomori is the only perfect example so far. Broja and Ziyech are good enough players to make their squad strong in the forward line.
