Final Chelsea squad to face West Ham United revealed

The final Chelsea squad to face West Ham United at Stamford Bridge today afternoon has been revealed (h/t Football.London). New signing Wesley Fofana is included, while Reece James and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who were injured for the previous game, are also back.

Deadline day signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaris are not involved. The latter is yet to get his work permit, meaning he is not eligible to play, while the former is sent to Milan to get his face mask following injury to his jaw.

Only N’Golo Kante is not available due to injury. Otherwise, the squad is fit and raring to go to get back to winning ways after a bad defeat against Southampton in the midweek. With games coming thick and fast, manager Thomas Tuchel would be a happy man seeing most of his squad fit and healthy.

There are some questions that need answering from Tuchel with regards to he selects at the back. With Fofana available now, the Frenchman would push for a starting berth along side the likes of Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly in central defence. James could be back in wing-back if that is the case.

With just seven points from the first five games, the pressure is on the manager and the players to start winning games. West Ham are coming into this game off the back of four points from their previous two games. But, they are the league’s strugglers when it comes to scoring goals – only two goals scored in five games.

This being the home game for the Blues, it is an ideal chance for them to kickstart their campaign. The squad is certainly looking in a better shape now compared to the last few days, when Fofana, Zakaria and Aubameyang were not signed.
