German outfit Borussia Dortmund will decide the price tag for Jude Bellingham after the World, according to Fabrizio Romano (h/t Express). Chelsea are said to be interested in the midfielder.
Bellingham is one of the most sought-after players currently in Europe. Top clubs in Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool have all expressed an interest in signing the 19-year-old England international.
The midfielder is tipped to make a move in January or next summer. The Bundesliga outfit now wants to see their midfielder’s performance in the World Cup in November, and then decide on his price.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho see their contracts expire next summer. Mateo Kovacic is a good option to have, but he cannot be trusted to start games regularly for the west London club.
Young players are needed to secure the department for years to come. One cannot expect the club to look for players every other window. Bellingham fits that bill perfectly. The Blues have some of the best young options for their midfield department.
Conor Gallagher (22) and Carney Chukwuemeka (18) could be considered the future of the Chelsea midfield. Adding the 19-year-old would not only secure the Blue’s midfield for years to come but also make it one of the best in the world.
But with the host of clubs interested in the midfielder, securing his signature will neither be easy nor cheap. Dortmund are likely to demand a premium fee for their prized midfielder. The midfielder is a regular for the club having played in all their 10 games this season in all competitions.
With the 19-year-old more than likely to travel with England for the World Cup this year, some could say he will play a pivotal role in their performance. A very talented midfielder at such a young age, he has all the qualities to become one of the best the game has ever seen. It remains to be seen who wins his signature when the time comes.
