Gabriel Slonina is one of the highly rated talents to come out of the United States and was very impressive last season with the Chicago Fire keeping 16 clean sheets for the Major League Soccer outfit. Since Petr Cech’s departure from Chelsea, there has not been a keeper who could establish himself as the first-choice starter.

Kepa Arrizabalaga was supposed to solve the crisis when he moved from Athletic Bilbao and although Edouard Mendy started his Chelsea career tremendously, there has been a sudden dip in his form and it calls for healthy competition for places, something which Slonina can provide.

Real Madrid were also interested in signing the highly rated goalkeeper but the US International chose to shift to Stamford Bridge and further his growth.

More Chelsea News:

Slonina would be a solid addition to the squad and would provide much-needed competition to Edouard Mendy for the No.1 spot.

A new regime under Graham Potter provides him with a perfect opportunity to join a club in transition and stake a claim in the squad.
