Christian Pulisic entered talks with Juventus, Chelsea will demand £31m

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Daily Mail), Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has entered talks with Italian giants Juventus for a move away from Stamford Bridge after falling out with the west London club.

It is also revealed in the report that the Blues will ask for £31m for the USA international. Juventus have made contacts with the player, who has been keen to move on from his current club for some time now.

Pulisic arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2019 after signing a deal in January of that year and eventually moving to London from Borussia Dortmund that summer.

His Blues’ career has been a perfect illustration of a see-saw. He has had some good moments but never succeeded to get regular game time under either manager – Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel. Injuries haven’t helped him, but Tuchel didn’t use him much despite the player being available for selection.

The 24-year-old did not have a great relationship with the latter, the seeds of which were sown around the 2021 Champions League semi-final tie against Real Madrid.

It is now understood that in spite of a change in the managerial post at Stamford Bridge with Graham Potter taking over, the USA international is looking to move on from Chelsea.

Whether a turbulent Juventus be the right place for Pulisic is another question.

If this move happens in January or next summer, no one can blame Pulisic for trying out a new challenge. He has never been given a consistent run of games to prove his worth in the team while others have. On the other hand, he is still at an age where a career revival can get him back to being one of the bright talents in Europe. The peak years are ahead of him.

More Chelsea News:

From a Chelsea viewpoint, the club should be disappointed that they did not have the managers to make the best use of the former Dortmund man. He is a talent that can prosper under good management. Is Juventus the right place for him? That is a question in itself with the poor condition of the Italian side.
