Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is a potential option for Chelsea as a “last-minute backup”, according to Give Me Sport’s Dean Jones via the Chasing Green Arrows on Youtube (h/t football.london).
While Jones admitted he heard the story from a source that “wasn’t the greatest”, the football insider felt there must be some sort of substance to it.

Havertz arrived to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 after impressing in Germany. The 23-year-old primarily played as an attacking midfielder in the Bundesliga. With the Blues last season, the German mainly played as a false nine but failed to be consistent.
Jamie Vardy is a former Premier League Golden Boot winner, winning the award in the 2019/20 season with 23 goals. He may be on the wrong side of 30, but as a short-term option, the Leicester forward can add depth to our squad.
