Transfer News: Chelsea yet to make Jules Kounde offer to Sevilla

According to @MatteMoretto (via Absolute Chelsea) [h/t Football.London], Chelsea are yet to make an offer for talented La Liga centre-back Jules Kounde from Sevilla with Barcelona also interested in the player.

After seemingly pulling out of the race for the French centre-back, the Blues have revived their interest in Jules Kounde. It is also getting increasingly evident that they are set to lose out on Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich.

It is being claimed that Chelsea’s offer for Kounde to Sevilla will not reach €65M. Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez also want to sign the player but it is being claimed that the Spanish giants don’t want to pay big money to sign the talented Frenchman.

One of the most talented young centre-backs in the world of football at the moment, Jules Kounde is destined for the greatest things in the game. The 23-year-old has been a stand-out performer for Lopetuigi’s side for a couple of seasons now.

Kounde along with Diego Carlos formed one of the best centre-back pairings in La Liga and both players are set to leave the club this summer. The Blues need at least one more central defence signing and Kounde might be the perfect bet for that.

Having already signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, a centre-back pairing of the Naples man and Jules Kounde seems like a mouth-watering prospect on paper. If Chelsea manage to pull this deal off, it would certainly fill our fans with confidence ahead of next season.

Chelsea are still negotiating for Sevilla star Jules Kounde.

Barcelona also are very interested in signing the player and that cannot be good news for us. They have already been a thorn in our transfer business quite this summer and Chelsea will be hoping that the Spanish giants don’t ruin Kounde’s pursuit for us.

Andreas Christensen left us for free to join Barcelona and the Spanish club are also keen on signing Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.

We must not leave anything too late and try and wrap up a deal for the Sevilla man as soon as possible. He will be the perfect signing for our back line and could be a mainstay in our defence for many seasons to come.
