Transfer News: Conor Gallagher promised important role at Chelsea next season amid Everton interest

According to Football.London, Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher has been promised an important role in the Blues first team next season amidst interest from Frank Lampard’s Everton.

The talented Cobham graduate has progressed through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge before making the loan move to Crystal Palace at the start of the season. The Englishman has been impressive during his time with the Eagles going on to become one of their most important players.

The talented 22-year-old has played 39 times for Patrick Vieira’s side this season scoring eight goals and providing five assists across all competitions. Having impressed one and all during his time with Palace, many English clubs are interested in signing the ‘next big midfielder’ in English football.

Former Blues boss Frank Lampard is supposedly keen on signing Gallagher on loan to Everton for next season but it seems like Thomas Tuchel has promised the Englishman a prominent role in the Blues team especially ahead of the World cup.

A huge future?

Billy Gilmour who Frank Lampard is also interested in and Conor Gallagher are arguably two of the most talented young midfielders in English football and Chelsea will feel lucky to have both of them in their ranks.

Anyone who has seen Gallagher play knows that the English midfielder has everything that it takes to become one of the biggest players in the Premier League in the future. If he continues in the same vein, then the sky is the limit for the 22-year-old.

Chelsea could do with midfield reinforcements going into next season. N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are both getting older by the day and not performing at the same levels that they once used to do whilst Mateo Kovacic for all his brilliance struggles to stay fit.

Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are inconsistent and haven’t had a lot of trust under Tuchel, and reinforcing the midfield for the future seems to make sense for the Blues. It is a good thing that they’d not need to go outside to search for players thanks to Gallagher and Gilmour.
