Sevilla defender Jules Kounde drifting away from Chelsea yet again

According to the Mail Plus, Jules Kounde wants to join Barcelona despite transfer interest from Chelsea. In a Bosman transfer, Antonio Rudiger joined Real Madrid, and Andreas Christensen is also set to depart the Bridge.

As a result, Thomas Tuchel is understaffed in the defensive area. Kounde was said to be at the top of Chelsea’s list as they now search the market for additional centre-back additions.

Last summer, Chelsea came close to signing the French international last year, but Sevilla abruptly raised their asking price, forcing the Premier League’s heavyweights to back out. Chelsea continued to be interested in the 23-year-old and made a second attempt to sign him this summer, but they have not yet succeeded.

Chelsea have maintained their interest to sign Jules Kounde.

Barcelona have stepped up the hunt for the Sevilla defender and are making progress. However, the affection is not restricted from one side because it is believed that the Frenchman is leaning toward a move to Camp Nou.

Thomas Tuchel’s team may be the best place for Kounde to realise his potential because the Frenchman can learn from some of Chelsea’s more seasoned players. Chelsea are in serious need of defensive reinforcements.

With Thiago Silva still playing a crucial part for Chelsea at the age of 37, Kounde will only get better if he can team up with the seasoned defender.

Transfer News: Barcelona could scupper Chelsea summer transfer plans for Jules Kounde.

Jules Kounde has consistently delivered throughout the past few seasons and is a very capable centre-back. The 23-year-old can have an immediate impact at Chelsea despite his age, having played a sizable amount of football in Spain’s top division.

There is no question that Kounde may receive some regular playing time at the club since Chelsea employ a three-back setup under Tuchel. This is one move that the Blues must get over the line.

The club has invested far too much time to lose out once again at the last moment. Moreover, it would then mean redirecting focus towards other targets.

And while there is a long time left in this window, it is best to do business as early as possible so that our German boss has a longer time with the new signings during pre-season.
