According to Liverpool Echo, Chelsea star Mateo Kovacic could miss the FA Cup final against Liverpool due to an Injury. The Croatian sustained the issue during Wednesday’s Premier League match against Leeds United.
On Wednesday, Romelu Lukaku, Mason Mount, and Christian Pulisic each scored one goal to lead a dominant Chelsea to a 3-0 victory over a 10-man Leeds United at Elland Road.
Although the victory brings joy to Chelsea supporters, we may face an injury setback before the FA Cup final against Liverpool. The Blues could be without Mateo Kovacic for the clash after he suffered an injury against the Peacocks.
Chelsea will be hopeful that Kovacic recovers in time for the weekend clash against Liverpool. Dan James of Leeds was sent off for a red card foul on the Croatian international around the 24th-minute mark. After the challenge, Kovacic played a few minutes before being forced to go off, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek coming on instead of him.
Kovacic hobbled off the Elland Road pitch after receiving medical attention and proceeded straight into the tunnel for further examination. His injury would be a big concern for Thomas Tuchel ahead of the showpiece occasion at Wembley against the Reds.
N’Golo Kante has also been missing from the team for the past three matches, leaving the manager with few choices on the bench if the French international is unavailable. Jorginho’s return to the squad will be welcomed by the manager, as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
We hope that the injury is minor and that he will be able to return to the squad in time for the weekend match and help us win the trophy. If he misses out, Jorginho could be paired against Kante- granted the Frenchman makes the matchday squad.
If not that, then Saul Niguez, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley are available for Tuchel. Kovacic played for us in all three of our clashes against Liverpool this season, even scoring in the 2-2 league draw at Stamford Bridge.
