Some Chelsea fans react on Twitter as Chelsea draw Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals

There was a sense of deja vu in the air as European champions Chelsea drew Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid in the last eight of the UEFA Champions League.

The Blues will face Carlo Ancelotti’s side at home in the first leg before travelling to the Santiago Bernabeu for the return fixture. Having defeated Los Blancos last season en route to the trophy, omens look good for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Real Madrid dispatched Paris Saint-Germain in the previous round and are also at the top of La Liga this season. While they do lack the fear factor of old, Ancelotti’s men can pack a punch on their day. It is far from an easy draw but one that could go either way over two legs.

The tie will also see Eden Hazard return to Stamford Bridge for the second time since leaving the club in 2019. Hopefully, he will once again come out second best on the night.

Should Chelsea progress to the semi-final, they will face either Manchester City or Atletico Madrid in the last four. Of the three English teams in the fray, it is arguably Liverpool who got the easiest draw against Benfica.
