Blow for Chelsea as Tuchel becomes English rivals’ number one managerial target

Manchester United make Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel their primary managerial target

According to Daily Star, Manchester United have decided to shortlist Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel as their primary managerial target ahead of the next season. This update is a shocking piece of information, to say the least, considering the rivalry the two clubs have built over the past few years.

Tuchel has leapfrogged Mauricio Pochettino to become the number one target for Man United in their pursuit to appoint a new manager. Their CEO Richard Arnold wants to sign the Blues boss before the end of this season instead of waiting for the summer transfer window.

The Manchester club believe they can prise away Tuchel due to the uncertain situation that unravelled at Stamford Bridge. The UK Government’s sanction on Roman Abramovich has put his club in a financially stricken circumstance, which the Red Devils are hoping to take advantage of moving forward. They think that a substantial financial package could convince the West London side to let him leave in the coming months.

No chance!

Ralf Rangnick’s side can try all they want, but there is no way we should entertain any offers from them for the 48-year-old boss. After all, he has been a massive presence in turning us into European heavyweights in a short time. Moreover, he can push us forward even further once the issues inside the club are addressed.

Not to mention, the way the former Paris Saint-Germain coach carries himself is also unique and really refreshing to see, especially under the current volatile environment. Supposedly, Man United have been left impressed by that quality of his as well, which eventually prompted them to take this stance.

Tuchel has a contract with us until 2024, and there is no way that we should even entertain any approaches from their side. As for the financial crisis, we believe in the club officials to reach an agreement with the Government to provide us with more leeway in this dire situation.

Moreover, a sale could put an end to all these uncertainties if it is approved by the UK Government. The prospective buyers have to register their interest by the end of this week for that purpose. We are hopeful that a quick transfer in ownership can be finalised to get us back to running as it was before the sanction.

That being said, the new owners could decide to change managers, which United would be hoping occurs. However, it would not make sense for them to go down that route, especially when Tuchel has been a success with us.

Not only is it difficult to find a truly world-class coach like Tuchel in the market right now, the time it will take for a new manager to stamp their identity on the team would not be worth the effort. And that is because what we have right now is pretty good.

The team reached the final of the Carabao Cup, is still in the UCL as of right now, and would have arguably competed for the title in a much better way had we not had the injury and Covid crisis back in December and January.
