Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel blocked a ‘great offer’ for Kylian Mbappe

According to El Nacional (h/t Football.London), Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is not keen to pursue a deal for Kylian Mbappe as he thinks the Frenchman ‘would not finish exploiting all his virtues.’

Mbappe is one of the biggest young prospects of the game and has only seen his star shine brighter in recent years. This season has been no different for the Frenchman as he continues to score goals in difficult matches. Till now he has secured seven goals in 17 appearances for the Paris giants.

While his goalscoring prowess may not appear too prolific, what changed from the previous season is his ability to set up teammates. He is now the highest assist provider this season in the French Ligue 1 with six assists

Chelsea board wanted to prepare a ‘great offer’ for Kylian Mbappe

The former Monaco player is in the last year of his contract. But he is yet to pen down any new contract extensions with the French side. Any foreign side can start approaching the player from January on a.

It is believed that the Blues board was preparing a ‘great offer’ for the forward. But Tuchel seems to have no intention of a reunion with his former player. He blocked the approach from the Chelsea board and does not appear to be showing any

Last summer Chelsea Chelsea completed the purchase of Seria A winner Romelu Luakau for a club-record fee. With Timo Werner also at the club, Tuchel does have options up front.

They already have Kai Havertz who scored the decisive goal that won them the coveted UEFA Champions League last season. Already having such reliable frontmen in the squad could be a reason for the German’s approach.

Even if the London club does have superb strikers, any denial to Mbappe would be a hard one to digest. While the players at our club certainly look good, they are not world-beaters. The Frenchman, meanwhile, has every reason to evolve into one.
