According to El Nacional (h/t The Express), Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has set a specific transfer price limit to lure Eden Hazard out of Real Madrid.
The Belgian international first signed for the Blues back in 2012 after the club lifted its maiden UEFA Champions League title. It was hard to amaze fans after that achievement, but the 30-year-old certainly pulled it off.
Quite possibly one of the most dazzling wingers of his time, Hazard set Stamford Bridge alight for several years and delivered two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup, and two Europa League titles.
The attacker’s last season at the West London outfit was 2018/19, where he scored an incredible 16 goals and provided 15 assists as he won the PFA Player of the Year award and the Premier League Playmaker of the Year award.
His performances convinced Real Madrid he is the right man for them and the Spanish outfit shelled out a whooping £100million on the Belgian. At one of the best clubs in world football, Hazard could have become one of the best players in the world, but things have not panned out that way.
In the last 2 seasons, the winger has only managed 51 appearances and has scored a mere 5 goals in that period. Consistent injuries have hampered his career to a certain and a move to Chelsea may now be back on the cards.
However, the Stamford Bridge outfit are only said to be willing to spend £34million on him. Thomas Tuchel has a bunch of attackers in his squad, but the 30-year-old has the game-changing ability most players currently lack at the club.
Regardless, while Granovskaia is steady on her stance on the transfer price, it remains to be seen what decision Florentino Perez makes of their £100million-man.
