Chelsea looking to bounce back

Matchday 5 of the English Premier League will see a salty Chelsea side welcome a dire Southampton team still seeking its first win of the season. Fans and pundits alike will be looking for favorable results and fans will be able to try their luck with .

After tasting their first defeat of the season, and even worse against a Pep Guardiola side, Chelsea will be looking to quickly move on and reassert themselves as title contenders if not favorites to strip Man City of their bragging rights. The Blues looked impotent against a tactically sound City side and had no response for a Jesus goal that eventually decided the match. Guardiola had been itching to get his first win over Thomas Tuchel, and it was the Spaniard who found the magic touch in the battle of tacticians.

Tuchel experimented with a three-man midfield and got burned as Manchester City picked apart and controlled the middle of the park. The German will be looking to right the ship and get back on track. Where better to do it, than at home, and who better to have, than a free-falling Southampton side?

The Saints have been abysmal this early on in this campaign, notching zero wins and currently leaking a two-game losing streak. The team had a good season last year and we’re certainly looking to build on that to establish themselves as a mid-table staple and maybe a shot at the European spots, but the departure of talisman Danny Ings, has left them blunt in front of goal. It will be another tough day in office for Hasenhüttlto rally his boys for a strong test against a contender, or maybe that will be all the motivation they need to play with purpose.

Chelsea will be without Reece James and maybe Mason Mount, which should be good news in any form for Southampton, but the Saints will still have to deal with a hungry Lukaku in front of their goal and a solid Chelsea defense on the other end.

This could be a walk in the park for the London team, or maybe not. The City defeat will have to be quickly out of their mind as they face Juventjs in the Champions League on midweek, which could ultimately mean less fresher legs on the weekend. Options at midfield means Tuchel has the possibility of mixing up and keeping players fresh for the weekend but that will also depend on the results of the match and how much of a problem Juventus cause.

Tuchel and Chelsea definitely have what it takes to see off Southampton but the factors building up to the game could just present Southampton with a glimmer of hope.
