According to the official Instagram profile of Romelu Lukaku (h/t Mirror), Chelsea legend Didier Drogba left a funny comment on the Belgian’s picture on his social media account after he failed a celebration.
Lukaku, who scored his first goal for the club against Arsenal a couple of weeks ago, scored his first goal at Stamford Bridge on his ‘second debut’ appearance at the stadium against Aston Villa.
The first goal was scored thanks to a beautiful pass by Mateo Kovacic, however, the 28-year-old forward did his fair share by turning onto his right foot before putting the ball in the back of the net through the keeper’s legs.
However, the Belgian then went on to celebrate his goal but failed to slide his knees through the turf, something Drogba managed throughout his several years at the London club. The striker later put out a hilarious tweet relating to it saying (h/t Mirror):
“No more sliding on my knees after yesterday’s celebration…”.
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba was also quick to spot the failed celebration and wrote a hilarious comment on the Belgian’s picture on Instagram. He wrote (h/t Mirror):
“Hello doctor David, can you get him new knees”.
Although the 28-year-old made a mess of his celebration, he managed to score another goal on the day as he capped off a fine performance. After the match, Lukaku talked about his first goal at The Bridge. He told Sky Sports (h/t Mirror):
“You know, it’s my dream since I was 11. I worked hard for this moment, but you know I’m very happy with the win. It was a very important win for us, it was about focus and motivation, and we showed the will to win from the first minute; I’m happy to win.
With 3 goals in 3 games, the forward is in good form, and will now be gearing up to face Zenit in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
