Tammy Abraham sends message after completing move to AS Roma

According to football.london, Tammy Abraham has penned down an emotional message to the Chelsea fans and the hierarchy after he decided to leave the club to join Italian giants A.S Roma.

The Englishman completed his £30million move earlier this week and has sent a message appreciating everything and everybody the club did for him.

He wrote on his official Instagram account (h/t football.london):

“It’s time to say goodbye to a club that means so much to me and my family. From playing at the academy as a young kid from Peckham to winning the Champions League all those years later.

“I want to say thank you to my teammates, the Academy, all of the staff and of course, the Chelsea fans who have always supported me. Wouldn’t be who I am today without you guys”.

Abraham broke into the senior squad two years ago under Frank Lampard and the player shined instantaneously. The Englishman scored 15 Premier League goals in his debut season as he helped the club secure a 4th place finish in the league table.

However, the Blues spent more than £200million last summer on new signings, with a large chunk of it coming on forwards like Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech. Although Abraham featured every now and then under Lampard, he dropped down the pecking order when Thomas Tuchel arrived at the club at the end of January.

Abraham still managed to rack up 32 appearances in all competitions last season as he scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists in the process. The Blues have heavily invested again this season by bringing in Romelu Lukaku, courtesy of which Abraham had to seek a move away from the club for consistent game time.
