According to transfer news from Express, Jorginho could be heading for a potential exit from Chelsea after the Euros. His agent Joao Santos has hinted that there have been offers for his client from some of the big sides in Europe.
The 29-year-old moved to Chelsea in 2018 from Napoli, along with manager Maurizio Sarri. Jorginho struggled in his first season as he looked a bit slow for the fast-paced nature of the Premier League. This season, under Thomas Tuchel, he made a strong start. He is often deployed as one of the two central midfielders in Tuchel’s set-up on a rotational basis.
One of the central figures in Chelsea’s success this season, the Italian played a pivotal part in their Champions League triumph. It seems as if his good form has continued into the Euros where he is running the show for Italy, winning both of their games.
However, in what will come as a bit of a dampener for Chelsea fans, Jorginho’s agent has spoken about interest from big clubs in his client.
“Jorginho is very well, he has won the Europa League and the Champions League, and now the goal is to win the Euros. He is focused on this and wants to play all the remaining seven games of the European Championship. Obviously, he won the #UCL, and therefore there are inquiries from the main teams in Europe.”
While he did go on to assure that the former Napoli man will remain at Chelsea, there is a good chance the big teams show more interest. Jorginho is also likely to consider his future ahead of next year’s World Cup. For now, his future remains cloudy.
