According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea are considering offering two players in a swap deal for Achraf Hakimi. The Blues are looking to offer around £51.2m cash plus Andreas Christensen and Emerson Palmieri.
Hakimi came through the ranks at the Real Madrid academy and made his senior debut in 2017. However, it was during his two-year loan stint with Borussia Dortmund that the Moroccan truly announced himself. The 22-year-old then sealed a permanent transfer to Inter Milan in the summer of 2020.
Having signed for the Italian giants, Hakimi went on to play a critical role. The Nerazzurri went on to lift their first Serie A crown in eleven years, guided by Antonio Conte. Despite their title success, Inter Milan are mired in financial difficulties and may be forced to cash in on their key players in the summer.
Interest in Hakimi has grown since his exploits for Inter. Chelsea, PSG and Arsenal have all been after the Moroccan. The former two have also made an offer of around £51.2m for him. However, it is understood that Chelsea are considering a cash plus player deal to sweeten things.
Andreas Christensen and Emerson Palmieri are the two names Tuchel is said to be happy to let go. Christensen has a year left on his deal while Emerson has slipped to the fringes. Chelsea want to cash in on the duo to facilitate the arrival of Hakimi.
Hakimi is just 22 years of age. Within this short time, he has played for some of the best clubs in Europe. It speaks volumes about his ability and development. He is someone who looks like the perfect fit for Tuchel’s setup. Offering players in a swap deal might be a good move to push Inter into letting Hakimi go.
