Serie A giants plan a double raid on Chelsea for two attacking stars

Transfer News: AC Milan interested in Chelsea duo of Ziyech and Giroud

According to transfer news from Mirror, AC Milan are planning to raid Chelsea again, this time for Olivier Giroud and Hakim Ziyech. The Italian side have already signed Fikayo Tomori from the Blues. Now, they want to add a few more names from the London based club.

Ziyech arrived at Chelsea only last summer from Dutch champions AFC Ajax. After a bright beginning though, things hit rough terrain for the Moroccan international at Stamford Bridge, with injuries playing a role in his difficult debut season.

At the end of the season though, it was believed that Giroud would be on his way out, with his contract expiring. However, the Blues made a major U-turn by extending his contract by another year. His new deal would have kept him at the club for another season.

Now, AC Milan are hoping to add some more new faces to the side. After losing Hakan Calhanoglu to Inter Milan, AC Milan are hoping to replace him with Hakim Ziyech. As for Giroud, it is believed he already has an agreement with Milan over a two-year deal. The duo would be the second and third players Milan sign from Chelsea.

It is understandable that Chelsea would want to let go of Giroud who has become a bit-part player in the side. However, Ziyech’s sale should be reconsidered. The Moroccan has plenty of quality and needs to be given time and opportunity to come good at the Bridge. It remains to be seen who eventually follows Fikayo Tomori to Milan.
