Liverpool wonderkid Ethan Ennis set for Chelsea transfer

According to football.london, talented Liverpool youngster Ethan Ennis could be set for a transfer to Premier League rivals Chelsea, with the teenager dropping a major hint over a move.

A product of the Liverpool youth academy, 16-year-old Ennis has been quite the waves at the Under-18 level. The teenager featured seven times for the Reds’ Under-18 side in the U-18 Premier League in 2020/21, scoring two goals and setting up one more for his teammate. (h/t Transfermarkt)

However, Ennis’ best game came in the FA Youth Cup, when he came on as a substitute against Sutton United to score a stunning hat-trick as Liverpool completed a 6-0 thrashing. And, it seems like the Reds’ prodigy’s exploits have gathered plenty of eyeballs, with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea showing an interest. (h/t football.london)

But it seems like Chelsea are set to come out on top in the race for the youngster, who is seemingly set to turn down a contract at Liverpool in favour of a switch to London. Indeed, the 16-year-old Ennis teased a transfer to the west London giants, by sharing an image on social media of him visiting Chelsea’s Cobham training facilities.

Chelsea have been known to secure the best young talents for the club’s youth setup. And in recent years, there has been a pathway laid down from the academy to the first-team, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James, Mason Mount, Tino Anjorin breaking into the senior side.
