According to transfer news from Sunday World, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham. While they haven’t yet launched a bid for him due to the managerial situation, there is a strong interest from Palace.
Tammy Abraham is having a torrid time at Chelsea. It has become an all too familiar sight to see the academy graduate on the bench, or even out of the matchday squads in the last few weeks of the campaign. The striker has hardly featured over the last three months or so.
The England international has slipped down the pecking order after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. The likes of Timo Werner, Olivier Giroud and Kai Havertz have been preferred ahead of the academy graduate.
Palace are set for a summer of reconfiguration with most of their players departing after the end of their contracts. Roy Hodgson is leaving the club too. The club did renew Christian Beneteke’s contract but Michy Batshuayi will be returning to Chelsea.
Nonetheless, they could return for another Blues striker Tammy Abraham. It has been reported that the tall and lanky forward is of interest to Palace. However, they are waiting to resolve their managerial situation before going after Abraham.
There is obviously no shortage of suitors for Abraham as Palace, West Ham, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Leicester and Roma have shown interest. The 23-year-old clearly has no future at Chelsea and cashing in on him with Palace interested will be a wise move.
