As Italy wrapped up a flawless group stage in the Euros, there were many players who impressed. Nicolo Barella was one such star who lit up the side with his lively performances in the first two games. He did not feature in the last game as Mancini opted to rotate the side.
Barella was also central to Inter’s historic Serie A triumph last season as the Italian side lifted the league after 11 years. The 23-year-old has come a long way since his Cagliari days and is now one of the best emerging talents.
It has now been suggested that Chelsea are after the midfielder. Frankly, Chelsea don’t need too many new names in midfield, with the likes of Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic doing the job well.
