Transfer News: Chelsea leading pursuit of Harry Kane

According to transfer news update Football Insider, Chelsea have emerged as the front-runners to secure the signing of Tottenham superstar Harry Kane.

It is public knowledge at this point that Chelsea are on the lookout for a new and prolific goalscorer ahead of the new season. And, the pursuit of a new centre-forward is very much understandable, given the situations of some of our current options in the No98 role.

Tammy Abraham has been out of favour under Tuchel

Tammy Abraham has found himself out of favour ever since Thomas Tuchel took over the reins of the club back in January while Olivier Giroud’s contract with the Blues also expiring at the end of the season, a new centre-forward would become a necessity for Chelsea. More so considering the inconsistent season that Timo Werner has had so far.

The likes of Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan superstar Romelu Lukaku have also been linked with a move to Chelsea. But it is Kane that has taken a priority as things stand, with the Blues now ready to launch a huge bid for the England captain in the summer. (h/t Football Insider)

Tottenham though strongly maintain that they are not considering selling their superstar and will reject any offers for the striker. However, Chelsea have the financial means to make a offer so huge that could force Tottenham to rethink their stance on the matter. (h/t Football Insider)

Kane has been consistently among the top goalscorers in the Premier League over the past half a decade or so. A model professional and a leader, the 27-year-old could be a game-changing sign for Chelsea if the club manages to pull if off.
