Speaking to news outlet Cope (h/t Football.london), Erling Haaland has broken his silence on transfer links to Chelsea. The Borussia Dortmund starlet has been linked to a plethora of sides such as Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
The Norwegian hitman has taken Europe by storm with his goal-scoring exploits for RedBull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund. In 49 outings for Dortmund, he has scored 49 goals. It was Manchester United who tried to sign the player from Salzburg before he joined Dortmund.
However, they are still keen on a deal for him. Despite Manchester United keeping tabs on the youngster, Chelsea could come into the fray as Roman Abramovich has personally taken it upon himself to get a deal done.
Nonetheless, the Norwegian, who is on international duty, spoke about the transfer links with various clubs and somewhat quashed any speculation.
“I still have three years of contract. I am not upset about that. The media are the ones who write about it, I don’t focus on those things. I want to improve every day.”
With so many clubs after Haaland and the player remaining coy on any potential move, it is hard to say what will happen this summer. Chelsea are very realistic contenders for his signature and they have the financial clout to complete a deal for him in the coming transfer window.
