Erling Haaland has been linked with Chelsea

Erling Haaland is one of the best young footballers on the planet and has been linked with Chelsea, according to Italian outlets (h/t Express).

Haaland became the centre of attention over the upcoming Barcelona presidential race.

Josep Maria Minguella, the aide of president candidate Emili Rousaud, had claimed that they would call Mino Raiola and seal a deal for Haaland once he gets the job (h/t Express).

Haaland has been on fire since moving to Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg. The Norwegian has scored 10 times in the Bundesliga this season and has four Champions League goals too.

Raiola, however, hit back and claimed no discussions have taken place with Barcelona.

The agent told Sport1 (h/t Express) that no discussions had taken place with Barca:

“Fake news. I’ve never talked to any presidential candidate of Barcelona regarding Haaland and I won’t do.

“If there will be a new president elected in January, he can call me.”

January calling for Haaland?

The Italian reports further claimed that Frank Lampard wants Haaland in January while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also interested. (h/t Express)

It is a little concerning that we are being linked with a striker. We signed several quality attackers at the start of this season.

Timo Werner and Kai Havertz are yet to shine regularly for us. However, they need more time to settle in the club and country. We also have the likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi as attacking options.

Haaland would still be an outstanding signing but he won’t come on the cheap. The 20-year-old has a £65million release clause but that gets activated in June 2022 (h/t Express).

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City are also interested in signing Haaland (h/t Express), and it will be interesting to see which club is the next destination for the incredible talent.
