Leeds United winger Jack Harrison admits playing alongside Frank Lampard aided his development

Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast (h/t Chelsea FC), Leeds United winger Jack Harrison went on to reveal the impact Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has had on his career.

The 24-year-old spent the 2016-17 season at MLS side New York City. This saw him share space with Lampard, who was in the final days of his career as a professional footballer.

Harrison went on to praise the Blues legend, going as far as to claim that his presence aided his development.

“I probably keep in contact with Lampard the most as he is in England.”

The Leeds star went on to add that he is close to Lampard and keeps in touch. He has so far been left impressed by the boss’ success at Stamford Bridge.

“We were always close when we were in New York and it’s nice to see him doing so well with Chelsea.”

Technically a Manchester City player, Harrison has been on loan at Leeds since 2018. He has faced off against Lampard four times, including twice during the Blues boss’ time at Derby County.

Harrison is keen to prove his ability to Lampard and raises his game whenever he is up against the English legend’s side. While he struggled to make much of an impact against us this season, he is keen to rectify it next time around.

“Whenever I play against Frank I always try and prove a point to him although last time I didn’t do too well against Chelsea. I’m hoping to redeem myself the next time we play them.”

Lampard is not the only superstar Harrison has played alongside. While at New York, the 24-year-old also shared space with Italian legend Andrea Pirlo.

It is good to see that Lampard served as an inspiration to a young footballer who continues to make his name in the game.

The Blues boss had earlier given his appraisal of the young winger, tipping him for great things in the future.
