According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea star Thiago Silva could face disciplinary action by the Football Association for his post-match antics at Craven Cottage.
The 36-year-old gave his match shirt to a construction worker involved in the reconstruction of Fulham’s Riverside Stand. This is in direct violations of coronavirus regulations.
The Premier League released strict new protocols this week to prevent the spread of coronavirus among squads. This included a ban on swapping or giving away worn jerseys.
Silva played the whole 90 minutes as the Blues got back to winning ways in the Premier League.
The country is once again in lockdown as cases continue to rise. Teams such as Fulham and Aston Villa have seen their games postponed as the game is not immune to the ensuing pandemic.
Efforts are being made to ensure that minimal contact occurs between players. They have been instructed to avoid even gestures such as handshakes, high fives, and hugs.
This comes just days after Chelsea boss Frank Lampard put an end to celebrations in training.

It may not possible to completely eliminate contact in a sport such as football but teams have been doing their best. As role models, players will have to do their part too.
While Silva may not have meant any harm with his gesture, given the current situation, his actions weren’t the healthiest. It remains to be seen as to what action will now be taken against him.
