Chelsea make a decision to block all offers for Callum Hudson-Odoi

According to The Athletic, Chelsea will block any offer they receive for Callum Hudson-Odoi in the January transfer window.

This comes in spite of the 20-year-old’s lack of playing time this season. The youngster has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea and was left out of our last two Premier League games.

With Hudson-Odoi keen to make the England squad for the Euros, playing time is an issue he needs to address. It would appear that any thought of seeking it elsewhere will be nipped in the bud.

The player was subject to interest from European champions Bayern Munich in October. The Bavarian giants were keen to take on the player on a season-long loan with an option to buy. Chelsea however rejected the offer. (h/t The Daily Mail)

Chelsea are currently in a title race that could be tighter than what we have gotten accustomed to in recent seasons. Frank Lampard is keen to get all the help he can and wants to keep the youngster on at the club.

Christian Pulisic has just returned from a spell on the sidelines while Hakim Ziyech injured his hamstring against Leeds United. It remains to be seen if this is the opening Hudson-Odoi needs to return to the matchday squad.

It remains to be seen if Hudson-Odoi is being kept on as a contingency plan or he will be given more opportunities in the matches to come.

Whether the player will take matters into his own hands if he remains to be seen.
