Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho differ in opinion after goalless Premier League draw

According to The Express, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho have reached a disagreement following their goalless draw yesterday night.

The game left Spurs still on top while Chelsea remain within touching distance. Following the game, Mourinho wasted no time in calling the Blues as title challengers, brushing away the chances of his team going all the way.

“I don’t think it’s a problem for Chelsea. They know how powerful they are, they know the squad they have, and they know that this is a long, long run.”

The Spurs boss compared Chelsea to a horse while terming his side as a pony. It is classic Mourinho, attempting to take the focus away from his team.

However, unlike other managers, Lampard is someone who has played under Mourinho and is well aware of the tricks up his sleeve.

The Blues boss was having none of it and fired back that Tottenham are in the same boat as Chelsea. There is no reason as to why one of them is seen as a contender while the other isn’t.

“If we’re contenders then they have to be contenders.”

Jose Mourinho during his time at Chelsea

While Mourinho can see the race as he sees fit, Lampard will do the same. Leicester City are also in with a shot while Manchester United are making up lost ground.

“I think we’re all competing, but Jose can say it as he sees it.”

Unlike the last couple of seasons, the title race is not a runaway affair and looks to be setting up well for a grandstand finish. However, there is still a long way to go.

Liverpool’s title is there for the taking

The meeting between the two sides was a look at Chelsea’s past, present and the future. While Mourinho may have brought us much glory in the past, Lampard is proving he is the right man to take us forward.

Come the end of the season, it is hopefully the apprentice who will be laughing and not the master.
