Inter Milan still keen on Chelsea midfield ace N’Golo Kante

According to French outlet Canal (h/t The Sun), Chelsea star N’Golo Kante remains at the top of Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte’s transfer wishlist.

The 29-year-old was brought to Chelsea by Conte, back in the summer of 2016, from Leicester City. The pair won the Premier League title in their first season together and the FA Cup in the next.

Conte left Chelsea in 2018, whereas Kante continued to play a key role in the side under Maurizio Sarri. However, last season saw the Frenchman struggle with a lot of injuries.

But the midfielder seems to have put it all behind him now, establishing himself as the metronome in the centre of the park once again under Frank Lampard.

Former Chelsea boss Conte wants to reunite with Kante at Inter

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has featured in all of our eight Premier League games so far, as well as our three Champions League matches.

Conte tried to sign Kante from Chelsea in the last summer transfer window. However, a move never materialised. However, the Inter Milan boss hasn’t given up on his pursuit of the France international. (h/t The Sun)

It is being claimed that the Nerazzurri are likely to come back with an offer for the 29-year-old in the summer transfer window next year. (h/t The Sun)

Lampard, though, has been insistent that the midfielder is a key part of his plans and will not be sold. He hailed the Frenchman’s performance in the win against Sheffield United this past weekend. (h/t The Sun)

“He’s shown in the last couple of games he’s played he is N’Golo Kante. I’m pleased he is fit now and we will keep managing that.”

Kante has been one of Chelsea’s best players year after year

After an injury-riddled season, Kante seems to be back to his best this season. And, for attacking players like Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz to flourish, someone like Kante is pivotal to the side. So, a sale next year will be very much unlikely.
