Arsenal remain keen on Chelsea midfielder Jorginho

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have turned their attention to Chelsea star Jorginho after missing out on Houssem Aouar.

The Gunners were after the Lyon star all summer. However, with the 22-year-old now set to stay on at the Groupama Stadium, Arsenal are looking elsewhere.

Their attention clearly has not travelled far, with Jorghino plying his trade in the same city.

Will Jorginho leave Chelsea for Arsenal?

With just over a day to go before the window closes, Arsenal are hopeful of landing the Italian star.

With Frank Lampard keen to bring in a new defensive midfielder, it remains to be seen if he is willing to let one leave.

If the deal comes to fruition, it will be the second time in two summers that a Blues star has made the switch to the Emirates. Brazilian defender David Luiz did the same last summer.

The Italian international has endured a mixed bag since moving to the Bridge from Napoli in 2018. Despite a difficult start, he came into his element last season under Frank Lampard.

The 28-year-old initially found opportunities hard to come by following the restart. He however looks set to be a part of Lampard’s plans moving forward.
