According to the Express, Chelsea will demand a transfer fee of £80m for midfield mainstay N’Golo Kante, who is being chased by Inter Milan.
Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, now at Inter Milan, is keen on reuniting with the midfielder this summer and has informed the Serie A club’s board to land the Frenchman this summer. (h/t Express)
It is being claimed that initial talks have been held between the two clubs over the possibility of a transfer. (h/t Express)
However, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is not looking to sell the midfielder and only an offer of £80m could force the club to part ways with Kante. (h/t Express)
Kante joined Chelsea in the summer of 2016 from Leicester City. In his first season at the club, the diminutive midfielder played a key role in our Premier League title triumph under Conte.
He has continued to essay a pivotal part ever since, winning the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League titles in subsequent seasons. The 2019/20 campaign though, was a difficult one for the 29-year-old with injuries hampering him.
Irrespective of that, Kante, who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France, remains a vital cog.
When fully fit, the Frenchman is one of the best defensive midfielders in the game. His presence will be key for attacking talents like Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz to succeed in the upcoming campaign.
Given the way finances have affected clubs, it is unlikely that Inter Milan will be able to match our valuation for Kante. The Italians are also keen on two more of our players – Emerson Palmieri and Olivier Giroud. (h/t Express)
