Chelsea demand €20m for Tiemoue Bakayoko

According to reputed journalist Nicolo Schira, Chelsea have set an asking price of €20m for forgotten midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is a target for AC Milan.

Bakayoko signed for Chelsea from AS Monaco in a £40m deal after having helped the French outfit to the Ligue 1 title in 2016/17. However, he struggled to make any sort of impact in his debut campaign in England under Antonio Conte.

The following campaign saw him join AC Milan on loan, which was far from a success. The 2019/20 season saw Bakayoko return to his roots, as he signed for Monaco on a year-long loan deal and had a decent enough spell.

Time for goodbye

The 25-year-old finished the curtailed season in France with one goal and two assists from 23 appearances across all competitions.

Back at Chelsea now that his loan spell is over, Bakayoko will have no part to play in Frank Lampard’s side given the plethora of options at his disposal in the midfield department already.

While he still has two years left on his contract with the club, Chelsea are now ready to cash in on him and are demanding €20m for his services, claims Schira.

The journalist further adds that AC Milan are seriously interested in signing the French international. However, they are waiting for Chelsea to further reduce the asking price of the 25-year-old.

More Chelsea News

Chelsea have already made significant investments in the transfer market to sign Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. And given that more incomings are needed, it is imperative that we cash in on players that are not a part of the future under Lampard.

Bakayoko, to that end, could be one of a number of players that are facing the axe from the club this summer.
