Agent of Chelsea star opens up on the prospect of reunion with former boss

Jorginho’s agent reveals Maurizio Sarri has not been in contact with his client

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss (h/t Standard), the agent of Jorginho, Joao Santos, has confirmed that there has been no contact between his client and Maurizio Sarri.

The former Blues boss now in charge of Juventus has been linked with a move for the Chelsea midfielder.

A Sarri favourite, Jorginho made a name for himself under the manager at Napoli before following him to Chelsea in 2018. His time at the Bridge has been mixed depending on who you ask.

With him initially struggling for game time after the restart, there was talk of him moving to Juventus in the summer. However, a spate of injuries has seen him enjoy a spell of games on the trot. He also started the FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley.

The Italian has made 44 appearances this season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.

His career at Chelsea continues to be unclear. Although both Frank Lampard and Jorginho have insisted that the player’s focus is completely on Chelsea, his agent has left the door open on a return to Italy. (h/t Standard)

He did, however, also confirm that there has been no contact between Sarri and Jorginho on the matter. (h/t Standard)

“Sarri has never called Jorginho personally to talk about Juventus.”

Santos is aware of Jorginho’s rumored tryst with the Serie A champions. However, they have yet to hear from Sarri or director of sport Fabio Paratici. (h/t Standard)

“When the directors Paratici and Marina Granovskaia find an agreement, if they find an agreement, then and only then can I talk about the situation.”

Santos did appear to leave the door open for a move, but placed the onus on getting it done on the directors of both the clubs. He did ,to his credit, acknowledge to the rapport between Sarri and Jorginho. (h/t Standard)

The 28-year-old has still three years to go on his Chelsea contract. Whether he sees it out at the Bridge or moves elsewhere remains to be seen.
