Frank Lampard confirms N’Golo Kante will miss FA Cup semifinals

According to MEN, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that star midfielder N’Golo Kante will miss the FA Cup semifinals against Manchester United on Sunday.

The French international is yet to feature for the club since injuring himself against Watford. He has since missed three matches including the humbling at Sheffield United. And Lampard has now confirmed he will be unavailable for the FA Cup clash as well. (h/t MEN)

“N’Golo Kante won’t be fit for the match, he’s still not right. So he’s out.”

N’Golo Kante has endured an injury-hit season at Chelsea

Lampard also went on to add that a number of other players have niggling issues. A decision on their participation will be taken over the next 24 hours. (h/t MEN)

‘We have a few people with a few little niggles that I’ll monitor over the next 24 hours or so, and then we’ll be ready to go.”

The loss of the 29-year-old, especially in such a huge game will leave us at a disadvantage. The United midfield has rediscovered their best form since the signing of Bruno Fernandes.

Jorginho could feature once again

The likes of Kante would have been ideal to break the synergy our opponents possess. With Billy Gilmour also out, Lampard will now have to put his faith in others.

Mateo Kovacic recently returned from injury while Jorginho looks to be back in contention. The Italian has featured in our last three games after initially missing out on the first five since the restart

It is no coincidence that they have come following the injuries to Kante and Gilmour. It remains to be seen if he will start the match against United.
