According to Football.london, Hakim Ziyech is full of optimism after joining Chelsea.
The Moroccan who is manager Frank Lampard’s first signing was pictured for the first time in the club colours.
Having officially turned a Blue on July 1, Ziyech joined up with his new teammates on Friday.
Following his first training session, Ziyech took to Instagram to express his joy at joining the club.
He expressed his excitement at finally being at the club and revealed that he is excited to meet up with the fans at Stamford Bridge.
Given that matches are currently taking place behind closed doors, the midfielder will have to wait a tad longer for that.
Ziyech is ineligible to play for the club this season. The aim now remains to ensure he is up to match fitness for the next campaign.
Having not played a competitive fixture since March, it is essential that the club brings him up to speed. Alongside Timo Werner, he is one of the two big deals the club has already completed this season.
Ziyech scored 8 goals and an incredible 21 assists in just 35 games for Ajax this season. The prospect of Werner and Christian Pulisic feeding off them is exciting.
The trio is set to play a key role as Chelsea aim to compete against Liverpool and Manchester City next season.
As seen in the league over the last two seasons, every point can make a difference. It is imperative that we don’t drop many when we try to get back to the top.
With the new season set to start in September, clubs may not have enough time for a proper pre-season. With Ziyech already at the club, steps must be taken to ensure he is ready in two months’ time.
