According to the Independent, Frank Lampard has urged Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi to pay heed to the lessons of his run-in with the police during the lockdown.
The youngster was the subject of an investigation following allegations of rape. He was arrested on May 17 before being released on bail.
“We have had conversations, myself and Callum and the big conversation now is to make sure that he learns his lesson from what happened.”
The investigation has now been closed and he will not face any more action. Lampard called out the 19-year-old winger for his breach of the lockdown, then advised him to learn from his mistake.
“He broke lockdown, that wasn’t good enough. He’s admitted to that, and we move on.”
The youngster will not feature against Aston Villa after suffering a minor ankle injury. Lampard has now called on his starlet to work hard and fulfil his potential.
Hudson-Odoi is one of Chelsea’s brightest talents and much is expected of the youngster at the club. With the unsavoury incident now behind him, he now has the opportunity to make the headlines for his on-field exploits.
Immediately after his let-off, he took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the matter.
The youngster admitted that he realizes the importance of being a Chelsea representative and is committed to being a role model on and off the field.
Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call and he will take Lampard’s advice and become a role model to look up to.
Chelsea take on Aston Villa tomorrow. With Manchester United dropping points, we can pull five clear off them in the race for fourth place if we get a win.
