Speaking on the club’s official site (h/t Metro), Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has thanked fans and teammates for their support during his battle against coronavirus.
The 19-year-old starlet became the first Premier League player to test positive for the virus. Thankfully, the player has now made a complete recovery.
“I would like to say to them thank you for all the support that you have shown.”
He went on to thank his well-wishers for their support and revealed that he cannot wait to be back on the pitch.
“I fully feel good, I feel fit, so I am feeling back to myself so it is all good.”
The youngster revealed that he first started showing symptoms of the virus three weeks ago. He initially thought it was a minor temperature issue, but was proven wrong later.
Hudson-Odoi wasn’t overly troubled by the symptoms and reveals that he is completely fine now. The youngster also made a special call to the support offered by his teammates.
“It has been very warming and a good feeling to know you have got your team-mates behind you”
He described it as a wonderful feeling to be backed by his teammates during this difficult time.
Hudson-Odoi came through the Chelsea youth system before making it to the first-team at Stamford Bridge.
The versatile attacker has made 53 appearances for the Blues and has 8 goals and 10 assists to his name. The youngster has also won three caps for the English national team.
