According to Daily Express (h/t Metro), Chelsea have been urged to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard by Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas.
The 22-year-old has been sensational since signing for Celtic permanently in the summer of 2018. The Frenchman had spent the 2017-18 season on loan at the Hoops.
Odsonne has scored an impressive 24 goals in 37 games this season and currently leads the SPL scoring charts with 20 goals..
Chelsea have been consistently linked with a move for Lyon’s Moussa Dembele. Nicholas, however, believes that the Blues will be better served chasing his French counterpart Odsonne instead.
The Arsenal legend was effusive in his praise for the 22-year-old. He further went on to add that Odsonne is good enough to play for Chelsea and Manchester United.
“I say that with some confidence. I think he could go into both their squads and make a real impact.”
Chelsea are in the market for a striker to lessen the load on Tammy Abraham. The club were unable to sign anyone in January but should attempt to do so in the summer.
Odsonne came through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain. He has represented France on various youth levels. A prolific scorer, he has scored 35 goals in 40 appearances across different age groups. (h/t Whoscored)
