Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Polish international Krzysztof Piatek in the January transfer window, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport (h/t Daily Mail). The Italian side are demanding £25m.
The Blues have been heavily reliant on Tammy Abraham up front and are looking to bolster their attack before the window shuts next week. Abraham limped off against Arsenal midweek and there is no confirmation as to how long he will be out for. (Gazzetta Dello Sport h/t Daily Mail)
With Oliver Giroud looking to leave, Lampard will be reliant on Michy Batshuayi going into an important run of games.
Abraham’s goal tally of 15 accounts for about a quarter of Chelsea’s goals this season, with Michy Batshuayi a distant second at 6. The over-reliance on Abraham is problematic.
Piatek will give Lampard a reliable option to choose from helping him lessen the loan on Abraham.
Piatek has failed to replicate his form from the previous season and has struggled for goals this time out. The 24-year-old has played 19 times for the Italian giants this season and has scored five goals.
