Chelsea have slapped a price tag of £25m for Aston Villa to sign Tammy Abraham on a permanent deal, according to the Mirror.
The 21-year-old striker became a revelation for the Lions and kept on breaking the club’s records on his loan spell.
His 29-goal tally, the club’s highest ever in years, played a great part in the Lions achieving promotion to the Premier League.
Now, the Lions are unwilling to let go of the English striker and would have to shell out a club record fee to keep him as a mainstay. A youth product of the Stamford Bridge side, Abraham struggled over the years to retain his place as he was recurrently loaned to various clubs.
The Blues’ attacking line up right now looks bleak with Gonzalo Higuain’s future hanging in the balance. While Alvaro Morata is yet to make his return from his loan spell, the Londoners should hold on to their up-and-coming star Abraham.
The former West Brom loanee has proven with his goal-scoring record that he is a force to reckon with. Meanwhile, Giroud is already in his twilight and can’t commit himself to the clubs’ long-term future.
