Roman Abramovich, Chelsea’s owner, has real plans of sacking current manager Maurizio Sarri (h/t Metro UK).
The Italian joined the London club prior to this season and fared decently so far, leading his side to the Europa League final.
The former Napoli manager has garnered a win percentage of 61, with 38 wins 11 draws and 13 defeats.
He also led the Blues to third place in the Premier League table, thus guaranteeing a place in the Champions League next season.
The key reason behind this big decision turns out to be former Napoli Manager’s hostility with the club’s fans. Sarri, one who always seems to be unhinged with the other’s decisions, has been regularly criticized by the fans.
It is also believed that Sarri’s comments on the Blues’ American tour were not received well by Abramovich.
The 61-year-old also spoke about his tentative future at Stamford Bridge following the final league game.
He said (h/t Metro UK),
I think so, but I am not sure. ‘I can say only that the club asked me for the Champions League, and we reached the target.
Sarri also praised the standards of English football which he always considers the best ever.
As you know very well, I love English football. I love the Premier League; it’s fantastic and the level is the best in the world, I think. The atmosphere in the stadiums is wonderful. I would like very much to stay here.’
The Italian gaffer‘s only chance of winning a silverware in his first season is by winning the Europa League final against Arsenal.
